Walk in the Water Fall - Coz it's VISAPUR

Another trekky weekend in my life. Last Saturday (July,24th,2010), I went to trek Visapur fort. Located around 60 KM from Pune, Visapur can be reached in local train to Lonavala from Pune. We started from Pune station at 8:05 AM and reached Visapur by 9:45 AM. The nearest station to Visapur fort is Malavali and we need to walk around 1KM to reach the base of the Visapur Fort. It was all raining from the time we started in Pune station and till we returned home in the evening. In fact, we desperately wanted the rain. The famous English rhyme "rain rain go away... arthur want to play" should be altered in Visapur, because only if it rains there, the accumulated rain water will create the instantaneous waterfalls all along the way(s) to the top of the hill through which you actually trek. As I mentioned, there were many ways to reach the top of the Visapur, but we don't need to worry, all we need to do to reach the top is catch a waterfall flowing on the rocks which is originated at top and start walk though that. If you see any other way in the middle, leave the waterfall path and take the new way. But we should make sure that we always heading in the direction of the hill top. Varma and Sudhaker are with me in the trek. For sudhaker this was the first trek and he felt it very adventurous. All the time, they were taking pictures posing in all possibilities, where as I focused on capturing some good pictures of the nature around. (I saw my face enough in the pictures ha ha). We carried extra clothes, but rain has not given any chance to use them, as they were already completely wet. We reached the top by 2:00 PM, the wind was blowing at very good speed and sometimes we felt we might be thrown away by the wind. We turned back at 2:30 and we could comeback to the Malavali station by 4:00 AM.

If you like going out in rain, if you like visiting waterfalls and get wet under them and if you like trekking, go to Visapur in monsoon (July to August is the best time), you can combine all the three (rain, waterfall, trek) experiences in Visapur.
